Happenings at the last meeting Our last meeting of the year and we were back inside at the Golf Club. After dinner Harry welcomed Elaine and Ray Barnard-Brown and Ray thanked Harry for making it possible for them to attend. Next, Harry spoke about being invited to the Carrum Downs/Seaford Rotary Club. Sadly this Club only had a turnout of about 12 people, which is about the size of the Club, so Harry was proud with the size of our regular attendees. Adrian was attending this week and thanked everyone for the support. At our Xmas breakup barefoot bowls and petanque are an option if people want to arrive a little early. Bob raised the question of whether District had been asked about the recommencement of the Youth Exchange Program. It seems that a decision is pending from Rotary International and will be announced on 1st July ’22. If the program is restarted it is not expected to resume until 2023. Chris introduced the subject of our Twilight Market on Wednesday 22nd and the need for a Logistics Plan to cover such things as the number of Marshals required and how to deal with the public as the Market is being prepared. It was mentioned that a Statement of Trade may be required of each Stallholder as well as the Market itself. This issue was discussed but no resolution was reached on the night. Takings from the Market will be donated to the Southern Peninsular Community Support Centre and all Stallholders will be asked to donate to a giant hamper to be raffled on the night. Harry officially announced the celebration of Rays Birthday with a rousing three cheers from the members. Ray thanked Harry and Trudy and all the others who have helped he and Elaine. Rick was thanked for his efforts to restore and refurbish the lectern. Lastly, Harry thanked everyone for attending and mentioned that more salads were required for the Xmas breakup. With that, the meeting ended at 8:00.
