President Tyrrell’s Tales
A good evening last Thursday, an interesting guest speaker who gave us thoughts as to how we could help with his project.  As I said on the evening there is a possibly of our Cluster getting together to assist with a “Camino” type walk on the peninsula. We have an advantage in that we have the geography to have a three sided walk through beautiful natural topography which only needs basic accommodation/shelter huts wherein walkers can camp/shelter, or take advantage of B&Bs available in the area.
Anzac Day takes place this Monday and PE Ross and I will be attending the Dawn Service.  I will also be attending the 9am March and laying a wreath on behalf of the members, past and present, of the Club.
Thursday will be the last meeting I attend for a couple of weeks as Maggie and I will be attending the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotary in Williamtown, NSW for a week next week. I only hope I can represent the Club as well as PE Ross represented us at the recent International Fellowship of Skiing.
See you all Thursday evening
President Tyrrell

Our Guest Speaker Michael Leeworthy, apart from being a prominent artist on the Peninsula, is also a very enthusiastic walker.  One of Michael’s missions is to create walker friendly tracks on the peninsula.  “Our Incredible Triangle” There is absolutely no overnight camping along the trails for example.  To this end his has been lobbying the Shire for some support to create some simple three-sided shelters along our walks.
Overseas backpackers could be expect to travel to Frankston by train, bus to Dromana and then commence the walk up Arthurs Seat to Seawinds, then Cape Schanck Point Nepean and back again.

This is seriously great walk in our own backyard, deserving of international recognition.
Discussion ensued over the possibility of a walk up below the new Chairlift. The possibility if our Club support for the project in some way was also discussed.

Meetings held weekly at Old Shire Offices, Point Nepean Road, Dromana.
