Happenings at the last meeting.

It was a very informal meeting and I have attached a few comments and points that were discussed.

Peter attended a Rotary zoom meeting with 61 members present.  He said it was well organised and functioned well.
Peter has over 80 items for the raffle and asked for members to come into his shop and buy tickets.

Bob spoke about request for donations from outside groups; as we have not been able to raise funds we will have to decline at present.
Bob has contacted the Dromana Community House to organise a meeting with the committee to establish a list of tasks for the club to do.
Bob contacted the Australia day committee about getting some of the surplus returned to the club.

Rick spoke about replacing the signs which had come off the Dromana spinner.

Harry said he met Disaster Aid Australia about water purification systems and the possibility of being involved with a Rotary overseas project.  There is  nothing to report at this stage.

Merv said the Salvation Army are looking for donations for their Red Shield appeal.

Greg contact the Mornington Peninsula Shire about the possibility of having a Halloween function.  There is no decision at this time, but it could go ahead.

Harry suggested that if the council opens up the rooms for 20, can we have half the club attend one week and the other half the next week.

Roger Is now looking after guest speakers.   He has arranged for Bernard Bodson to talk about refugees on 27 August.
Roger suggested the pool be named as the David Jarman Memorial Pool.
Rick felt that this should be discussed at the Club changeover board meeting.
Ray suggested that the name should include “Rosebud”

Greg would like members to let him know of any events, so he can put a notice in the town crier.  Pass suggestions to Greg

Tony asked when will the market start up again.  This is a matter for Rotary and the Shire.

Geoff discussed where we should get some trophies and name tags made.

Ray said his medical results have been positive.  He spoke about having PET scans.

Richard was thanked for helping Ross with new technology so as he can zoom through the meeting.

Chris has been sick and our best wishes go to him:  He had been vomiting from a new drug he was taking. Get well soon Chris.

Our Zoom meetings are getting better and better.  Here are the happy faces from last weeks meeting
See you all on Thursday at 7.00 pm.

And John and Julie Barnes had their historic tree lopped.
