President's Message

Dear Rotary members and all friends from Rotary,

If you have a birthday or a anniversary, congratulation and have a great day.

What a great conference again by district 9820. Lots of fellowship and catching up with well known other members. Some great encouraging and motivating speakers. This would have been great for members whom have not been of late and new members.

Good to hear our 22/23 new D.G., and live saver, Paul Mee will be at the helm. We will support Paul where we can. Congratulations and have a great year.

I will be away for the next three weeks, or maybe only two weeks if we can’t travel anywhere due to QEENSLAND floods. We are looking forward to catching up with my only sister in Aus' after  two and halve years. There will not be a pres. report  for next three weeks.

Take care and enjoy the new venue. It's a good choice.

Yours in Rotary Harry.

Happenings at last weeks’ meeting

This was our last meeting at the Golf Club. During the evening Harry expressed our thanks to the club for supporting us during the good times and helping us out during the trying times

Tony gave a quick update on the upcoming Market. We will have 30+ stalls but are having difficulty sourcing a coffee supplier. This will be discussed at tonight’s Board meeting. There are flyers available for both this months and next months markets.

Harry spoke about receiving an e-mail about Bendigo Rotary contributing $5000 to Tongan relief efforts. He said that there are a number of Tongan Projects underway, across multiple Districts, and he hopes that they will become RORCS Projects with matching grants.

The fund raising Movie Night is going to be on again on the 18th March, so enter that in your calendar.

Chris got up to speak about District Zone 8 Insurance Review and the updated Handbook. Two of the points he raised were: Covid is no longer an “unforseen event”; and Volunteers helping out on Rotary Projects will have to sign an indemnity form (this will include youth volunteers).

Harry reiterated the need for everyone to let Chris know who is, or is not, attending each meeting in the future. The new venue need advance notice for catering purposes.

Speaking of the new venue, this weeks’ meeting is a Ladies Night which is a great way to christen our new home.

After thanking the Golf Club for their help the members heartily thanked Trudy for providing tonight’s farewell meal. It put our recent catering to shame. (No offence intended Greg).

Chris’ Latest E-mail.

“Just a reminder to all who haven't responded that I need confirmation of your attendance at tomorrow's meeting by 5-00pm today.
We have to be accurate with our bookings at the new venue so remember,
 1. If you turn up without booking there will be no meal for you.
 2. If you book and don't attend then you will be charged for the meal. (extenuating circumstances apply)
 3. If you have not advised me by 5-00pm today then I will record you as not attending.
 Many thanks,
 Chris “

Rick’s Latest.

“Today we received the District Grant for $20002 we are expecting.
Regards
Rick”
