President's Message
member photo
Hi all

This is my last little bit as President

Hopefully the major part of this will come from PE Harry

Changeover 8th July

You would have all received the invite to the Changeover that we believe will really happen so please make sure to let John or Julie Barnes know that you and your partner are attending.

I will be sending you all the Annual Report as a PDF in the near future, and placing on the ClubRunner Website for all to see.

Over to Harry

PP Rick

Here is my first President's Message.  I would like to thank all club directors for supporting me this year.  And of course all club members for having trust in me thank you. It’s a real privilege for me and hope we have good fellowship  and a most successful year.

I will out lay our plan for the year shortly.  At our first meeting you will all get a opportunity to bring forward your thoughts on making it a good year.  If we all support one and other than the rest will fall  into place.

With the signs of a good club past and present,  I look forward to our meeting on Thursday. Remember nothing is impossible to achieve...

Harry

Club President

Happenings at the last meeting.

Well this must be the shortest meeting on record.  With a joint incoming and outgoing board meeting, it was decided to keep the meeting short.  There was no guest speaker, but plenty of fellowship.

Club Business

Secretary Bob received a letter from the acting Well-being Coordinator from Red Hill Consolidated School.  They were looking for support for their resilient program for student well-being.
Support was sought from a not for profit organisation, in the Balnarring area, which provides low cost accommodation for holidays and retreats.
Bob reminded us about MUNA (Model UN assembly) scheduled on the 25 June.
District 9820  is having a membership drive and are looking for membership champions.
Rick demonstrated how to navigate around the website.  He is wishing to encourage us all to use the website and the bulletin as communication channels.
Harry has recommended that we have a few paper copies of the Club Bulletin.  We need to work on making this happen.
The Rotary club of Flagstaff Hill is establishing a sanitation project in Timor Leste.

Club market.

Tony stated that we have about 40 sites sold for the next market.  We have purchased sides to the marquees and we are establishing improved Rotary information.
The Dromana Association is looking to use the market to promote itself.
We are constantly looking at means to promote both the Club and Rotary.

Memorial for David Buchanan

Subject to Covid restrictions, Lyn has suggested that we hold the memorial om the 4th July.  More details will be provided as they are firmed up.

On the lighter side …

You might laugh or groan with these:
  • I’m just itching to tell you about my allergies.
  • How do vampires start letters? Tomb it may concern.
  • How does the moon cut his hair? Eclipse it.
  • I went to the zoo and saw a baguette in a cage. The zookeeper said it was bread in captivity!
  • What’s the difference between a poorly dressed man on a tricycle and a well-dressed man on a bicycle? Attire.
  • What do Kermit the Frog and Attila the Hun have in common? They both have the same middle name.
