My Wife Mary is doing another fundraiser with the support of Freda and Bob Donaldson in conjunction with Dromana Rotary,to help in the recovery project, it will be on the 2nd May at the Dromana community Hall, tickets will be available from Mirage Hair in Pier Street over the next few weeks, if you would like to donate something, give us a call or drop in, we would love as much support as possible to reach our $35,000 goal

Rick and others went to the Main Ridge Bowls club for a fundraiser there to support the farmers and Bush fire victims of East Gippsland, Greg Hunt and Chris Brain were there to add support to the event.

The Bunnings BBQ went well, started slowly but went of around lunch time, Merv had to go and buy more snags and bread etc as they run out.

                                     GUEST SPEAKER THIS WEEK.

Guest speaker for the night was Adrian Davis’s Son in Law.
Siyawash Subhani.
Siyawash was an Iranian Refugee, he told us the story of how he escaped from Iran during the changeover between sudi and the Sheeits, And how they put all the non Muslims at the front of the firing line during the war, his family decided he must leave or he would be killed, He said he paid $6,000 ( that’s what it would cost Australian) to get him across the boarder to Pakistan, on the bus trip he pretended to be the Busses Mechanic to get past the guards, He said they drove only at night without lights, during the day the temperature was around 50, so very hot, When they got to the Pakistan Boarder the men helping him cross, paid the Pakistani Boarder guards so he could then enter Pakistan.
Once in Pakistan, he was taken the United Nations where he explained the situation in Iran, Which they already knew about.
He now lives in Australia and has a wife and 2 Children, he said Australia is the most beautiful country in the world, he has seen a lot and loves it over here.
