We are still a long way short of covering the cost of the car. So hopefully our return to Riches should help. He passed round a roster for members to fill in. The roster has been circulated by emailed all members are encouraged to let Roger know of any spots they can fill. Friends of Lospalos. Our guest speakers for the night were our ex Mornington Peninsula Shire Councillor,Tim Rodgers and Graham Pittock who gave a a good onsite into their joint interest and support for the Friends of Lospalos. They both make regular trips to Timor Leste in to discover what projects we as a Shire could initiate and support. Mornington Peninsula Friends of Lospalos began in May 2000, when the Mornington Peninsula Shire approved a Friendship relationship between the Shire and the sub - district of Lospalos in the Lautem district of Timor Leste.
Friends of Lospalos is an elected voluntary committee with Council and community members forming an Executive Committee. Executive meetings are held monthly and are open to all members. The committee is a section 86 committee of Council. A Lospalos Friendship Commission has been established and we will continue to work with our counterparts in Lospalos to fund projects that the community has identified as beneficial, sustainable and achievable. One Project we as a club could be interested supporting is an Education sponsorship.
