As usual allot is happening in the Rotary world

1/ Insurance  - putting the insurance issue into context, it is a mandatory RI requirement and put simply, no insurance no club. What we need to do therefore is to find the best solution for not only insurance but risk management, working with children and general Club protection. It is unfair to continually ask Secretary Bob to do this as part of his secretarial duties, so what I suggest is the Club sets up a committee under the Club Protection banner to take responsibility for all these areas of compliance.

2/ The  Child Protection legislation and YEP( Youth exchange) meeting  this Saturday was a fabulous success . You could either attend in person or via a webinar. It was run by PDG Merve Williams  and the District YEP committee but did not totally centre on YEP. The meeting addressed all aspects of the amendments to the State Government Child Protection Act and District 9820’s policy changes to meet the Act.

DG Don has sent an email to all the 1600 odd Rotarians in the  District. The Rotary outcome of all this work will be all youth programs will not, I repeat not, close  but be strengthened. Chris will explain more at next week’s meeting.

3/I am preparing 200 donation buckets for the Lift the Lid program to be immediately distributed around the peninsula so on the days we will have a  head start.  Peter  has taken the baton and is organizing Bunnings.

4/ The  trailer Raffle is  bubbling along. Do you have any goodies to put in it. Need this soon for promotional pictures and the start day at Halloween.
