Thank you to Mary my beautiful wife, and all those that supported me over the last 2 years as President of Dromana Rotary.
l hope the next 12 months goes well for Rick as new President and followed by Harry Ziegerink.
The issues l would like to see resolved prior to re grouping at our club rooms again are,
1/ sort out the meal issues, only those who actually do have a meal should be commenting on what price we should be paying, as they know if it is worth the money or not, should it stay the same or go up to $25 to cover costs, and other suppliers to do meals.
2/ The lack of women in our club, certain members seem to want it to be men's club, this is not what Rotary is about, we need more woman in our club to spread the load of ALL duties.
3/Ladies social night that my wife Mary tried to organise in my first year were all to difficult, we could never get everyone to agree on nights, l hope this can be sorted out.
I have had a great time serving this club and will continue to do my best to help and support it.
The money raised from our raffle will be distributed as follows
1/ $1000.00 to bush fire recovery.
2/ $250 to 39 plus
3/ $250 to Clothes for you Rosebud
4/ $250 to Dromana com house for food support
5/$250 for Sebby the blind boy at Dromana Sec College for support.
6/$250 for another blind girl at Dromana Sec College for support.
7/$250 to be decided later.
Thanks again, l am looking forward to the changeover night, cheers Pete.
The happenings at the meeting:
Bob indicated that there were number of further requests for funding.
He suggested that it would be good idea to get the host families of Livia together to thank them for their efforts
He indicated that the opportunity to offer David Jarman name for the pool had passed.
Bob indicted that there is a need to establish a protocol for face to face meetings. For instance who is responsible for the cleaning of facilities. He indicated that members will be surveyed on how we should conduct our face to face meetings
Mark: While we are not flushed with funds, we have some funds to spend on causes if the board or members felt needy.
Rick mentioned the centenary project on the peninsula trial could be undertaken as a cluster project. Greg agreed.
Rick is proposing 3 meetings per month with a guest speaker with the fourth being a club meeting in the next year.
