President Tyrrell’s Tales
A good evening last Thursday, an interesting guest speaker who gave us thoughts as to how we could help with his project.  As I said on the evening there is a possibly of our Cluster getting together to assist with a “Camino” type walk on the peninsula. We have an advantage in that we have the geography to have a three sided walk through beautiful natural topography which only needs basic accommodation/shelter huts wherein walkers can camp/shelter, or take advantage of B&Bs available in the area.
Anzac Day takes place this Monday and PE Ross and I will be attending the Dawn Service.  I will also be attending the 9am March and laying a wreath on behalf of the members, past and present, of the Club.
Thursday will be the last meeting I attend for a couple of weeks as Maggie and I will be attending the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotary in Williamtown, NSW for a week next week. I only hope I can represent the Club as well as PE Ross represented us at the recent International Fellowship of Skiing.
See you all Thursday evening

Eddie The Eagle
A good fun film
The night raised in excess of $2000 and if you remember our earlier movie night together with some addition funds from the club raised a further $750.
So this together with the Eddie amount will generate in excess of $9000.
And all for a couple of nights entertainment
This is the real Eddy
To all members of Dromana Rotary,
It was with great pleasure that David and myself delivered the wheel chair to a lovely couple, mother and daughter.
They used to struggle from other side of freeway just to get to the shops, they were very thankful for our generosity and from what l noticed it was very easy for her to move around.  l thank the club for supporting my idea and would also like to thank David again for picking it up with Ann and also Lyn for her help in assembling it, definitely a group effort.
Thank you, Regards Pete.
Scoping Dromana Rotary Spinner Project
Description
The Project is using a contraption called a Money Spinner to
A/Generate coin donation for various causes
B/Distinctively Identify /Promote what Rotary does (PR)
C/Link the Rotary Club of Dromana  with the community by displaying a Phone number and other links.
D/Use the venue as a extra point of distribution of Rotary Literature
E/ Gain Spinner sponsorship for investment in further Spinners.
What has happened up to Date
The Club Has established three large spinners operating and one special spinner.
A /  Dromana  -Large Spinner sponsored  requiring up to date insurance currency document to be sent to Morgan and Rule the shopping centre owners. This insures continuing free lease.
B/ Mc Rae-Large Spinner Sponsored no lease accepted there by absent nearly uncontactable owner but going well now John has filled with bricks.
C/ Library Spinner   Special spinner (low noise) for the purpose of the R0tary club purchasing books for peninsula reads or display shelving for the program. I would suggest that 10% of funds raised are re invested into spinners. This is an opportunity for the Rotary Club to promote Rotary in a Public Location.  Antonella has instructed the shire officers to suggest what books should be bought but the have not responded. A  MOU has to be established as per a comment by Vicki Bishop Co-ordinator Libraries
D/The Briars Large Spinner.  This has established a foot hold in another large shire facility-180000 visitors. This was arranged through the Mayor Councillor Pittock and Simon the team Leader.
Rotary information has been established at a point where Community information is not normally allowed.
My Vision
1/ EXPAND the Program and trial further concepts.
2/ Have another Rotary club service a spinner in their patch
3/We liaise with a trial club say on Phillip Island.
4/Fund a spinner and share the revenue
5/Brand it a s a Rotary share deal
6/Say 33% to foundation 33% to the managing club and 33% to Dromana
7/ All sponsorship goes to spinner purchasing fund.
8/ We arrange the location and insure it.

Locally two new positions are being negotiated by Greg who I suggest is the Top and Bottom of the new chairlift.

Now you know a bit more I hope
I am told by some members that last meeting was very enjoyable as they were able to chat amongst them selves and catch up with some goss.

There was a small opportunity to encourage the you to finally get into your ClubRunner profile and update it. Not only is this important for our club’s records but it those of you who dare venture into the site will see that it is not at all daunting.  And you never know we than may have a volunteer or two to edit the site and the Bulletin.  The responsibilities can be broken down to small tasks at do no need much time or effort while at the same time can be rewarding.
I recommend the the Bulletin responsibilities be shared by two members. One responsible for note taking at each meeting and the other for editing. Just a thought!!!
Quite seriously though.
It is time someone stepped up to the plate I am quite happy to provide as much guidance as you require even though the training videos and the help files on the ClubRunner site teach you virtually all you need to know.
