Hi Everyone
Firstly as l haven’t done the Bulletin for a few weeks as l wasn’t there, l would like to thank Greg Fitz and his team on the Halloween project, it was a great result again to see that many people all having a fantastic time and the weather was great with the bon fire going up safely.
I would also like to thank all those that helped in the Hill View Quarry BBq day, it started a bit wet but finished up really nice, we got rid of all the Hamburgers, eggs and bacon, only left with snags and bread that we can use on the next Market, thanks to Tony for all his organizing of the event.
The weekend BBQ at Hillview was also a great time to sell raffle tickets, we sold a lot of tickets as the food was free (payed for by Hillview) and they wanted to donate ,so we sold them tickets instead.
It was fantastic to see new member Andrew Turner join our team at Rotary Dromana, Andrew has already jumped in and selling raffle tickets at Mount Martha shopping centre.
Also news to hand, We have all been notified to the health conditions of Member Roger, we hope all goes well and our thoughts are with you and Ginny, if you need anything you no you can call any one of us for help or support, take care.
As you all no, the AGM is this month, Incoming President Rick is looking for members to fill his board, this job is not easy and without a full board it is impossible to do, so please give it some serious thought and contact Rick if you have any concerns, he may be able to assist in helping you find a team to make it easier for you to take on this director ship, thank you.
A couple of weeks ago our guest speaker was Mel Noble, l have known Mel for over 30 years from his Home Hardware shop that was next to mine all that time ago, he spoke about the TRAG programme and gave out Number plates that we have helped with the Bendigo Bank supply to Vic Roads, it is a great programme being done through High Schools in the area to make our younger drivers aware of the dangers of texting, drinking and drugs on our roads and the outcome it can course to them. Family members and others, it was a great talk on the night.
The Induction of Andrew Turner was done by Vice Pres Merv Prossor as Pres Pete was at Physio for his leg, Andrew was nominated by Secretary Bob Donaldson and made an active member of our club, he will be a valued member to Dromana Rotary.
I would also like to thank all those members that regularly put their hands up to assist all our projects, these members are great for our club, BUT need help from other members to keep the load shared around, we cannot burn out the select few, it’s a group of volunteers and we need you all.
Pictures of the latest events will be bellow and more will be published as l receive them in the coming weeks.
Thanks to all those volunteering to sell Raffle tickets at Mount Martha, things are moving along.
Notes from Rotary meeting 7th November Thanks Lynn
PP Merv opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to the meeting apologising for Pres Pete who was at a medical appointment. It was a newsy, casual meeting as much needed discussing and reporting and there was no visiting speaker this evening.
The first item was the induction to membership to the Club of Andrew Turner. This is always a pleasurable task and Merv followed usual Rotary procedure for induction to membership. Bob Donaldson was Andrew’s proposer to membership and Andrew was presented with his badge, a badge for his wife, a Rotary brochure and a 2019 International badge. Andrew was warmly welcomed to the club.
During the meeting the following Board members and members reported the following issues:
