Good evening Rotarians and Friends.
Ths was a speacial meeting this week, we had 3 inductees to welcome to our club , thanks to Roger McMillan.
Terri Clark -Burrows, Alan Clark -Burrows and Tony Viney.
We also had 2 members from Main Ridge Pertonk Club, and my Wife Mary Anderson to talk about her fundraising.
Meting was opened bye seargent Murray , then handed over to acting President David Jarmen ( as Pres Ross was away skiing with Treasurer Rick and his wife Carol.).
Chairman for the night was Chris Booth.
First dealings for the night were the inductions of our 3 new members, Pres David introduced each new member and gave a brief description of Rotary and also explained the 5 way test, they all enjoyed the experience and went around the room and got congradulated by all members,Terri got kisses from all the mail members and Alan didn't, much to his disappointment, Tony just shook hands with all the guys, wise man.
He also spoke about the NYSF program, how they will be doing it in Brisbane as well as Canberra.
Also that clubs may be paying al the fees, this will be discused at board meetings.
Peninsula Health has now got a list of guest speakers that our club might like to uterlise, they cover a range of different health issues and topics.
Secretary Bob spoke about joy Liddel thanking the club for the flowers we sent for the passing of Less.
Director Chris spoke about RYPEN, and how it is going this year and if our club was interested at short notice.
Member Frank Martin eg.grr.rpm.mpsc.rcd,exm.( councilor) spoke about how he went to Canberra and was met by the NYSF students, and how impressed he was with them and the program.
Member Greg Fitz , spoke about the walking trail at Arthurs seat, and how they need more car park space as it might be very busy.
Director Peter, spoke about corporate membership, and with Chris Booth's help in writting the letter, should be out to businesses in the next week, as we are having our corporate membership night at the club on 16th March, it will be a finger food night and great time for members and partners to mingle with prospective new members, also to listen to our speakers talk about the benefits of joining our club.
Secretary , Bob, and Peter and his wife Mary got up and spoke about the fundraising event on May 6th, Bob said it would go ahead under the Rotary Club Dromana name to cover everyone under Rotary Insurance, and also have Mirage Hair the organisers listed second, it was approved by all members and recorded in the minutes for the meeting to go this way, it was also approved that the club would cover the costs of the food etc.
We will be seeking the help of other clubs in our area to fill seats, the cost is $60.00 per head, we have a guest speaker from Peninsula Health and a comedian, it will be a 2 course meal, pre dinner nibbles, tea , coffee.
We will be selling beer mid strength And full strength and white wine, red wine as well as soft drink, SORRY NO BYO.
We are seeking to raise $15,000.00 to purchase an item from there wish list, we now have the list and will notify of the choice made.
