CHAIRMAN David Jarmen introduced Pres Rob who welcomed all our guests for the night. Secretary Elaine spoke about all the mail and reminded members about upcoming changeover night on the 14th June. Director Chris mentioned the WWC forms that need to be filled out, and suggested that all new members fill it out as part of there application to join Rotary, Chris also mentioner youth exchange and what was happening, and also asked if our youth exchange student was coming to the changeover night. Chris also mentioned what happened at the District conferance . Member Merv mentioned the dinner for MUNA at Phillip Island, If your going please organise ASAP. Merv also mentioned about the District conferance that he attended with Harry, Peter and Chris. GUEST SPEAKER Vivian Armstong Vivian spoke about Mental health and the LIFT THE LID campaign. Vivian is a member of Berwick Rotary club, and there club is passionate about helping with mental health, they started the red nose campaign many years ago and have since moved on the LIFT THE LID campaign saying it will be advertised on TV this year, also she mentioned how a college refused to take any part in the mental health issue, but then then later wanted to teach every teacher in the school with mental health firs aid. Vivian also mention that they had a meeting with an AGL representative, after there talks it was put forward , that they would teach every main executive mental health first aid to the whole of Australia, this would help with dealing with customers that are given the phone call about having power cut of etc, they found that there were people suffering hardship and possibly suicidal, so this training gave them the tools to talk them down from this very bad situation. Vivian also mentioned, since the war had finished, suicide from war veterans was very high and there needed to be training for them. PICS FROM THE NIGHT.
