Just a Few Things
As there is no Meeting to report on, I thought I might take the opportunity to trawl through the information that we have received in the last few months and see if there was anything that, maybe, deserved a second mention. I'll also add in some things I've received from Members along the way.
In the "Rotary Pacific In Unison Newsletter", from last week, there is an article on creating a Club Logo. Did you know that there are 5 "legal" colours that we could use? You can apply for various roles in the Region, and there are examples of Rotary Community Groups being developed throughout the Region. The Rotary Pacific Membership Team is developing a program called Fit for Purpose and lessons learned from the program will be used to create membership resources that all clubs in our region can use to thrive.
There's a series of e-mails introducing "9815 Connections" which seems to be a summary of some of the things being done by the new District. It will be a monthly publication so, as well as learning what's going on, we might be able to publicise some of the things our Club is doing.
Rotary Down Under usually has some good reading and the latest had some interesting articles on Food Waste and Tree Planting.
When I started looking for extras to fill the space this week I expected a lot more. However, hopefully there's something to pique your interest. If not, here's something from Harry.
How to Know When You ARe Growing Old.
Everything hurts - what doesn't hurt doesn't work.
The gleam in your eye is the sun hitting your bi-focals.
You feel like the morning after, but you haven't been anywhere.
Your black book contains only names ending with M.D.
You get winded playing cards.
Your children begin to look middle aged.
You join a health club but don't go.
A dripping tap causes an uncontrollable urge.
You know all the answers, but no-one asks the questions.
You look forward to a dull evening.
You need glasses to find your glasses.
You turn out the light for economy instead of romance.
You sit in a rocking chair and can't make it go.
Your knees buckle but your belt won't
Your back goes out more than you do.
You put your bra on back to front and it fits better.
Your house is too big, and your medicine chest isn't big enough.
You sink your teeth into a steak, and they stay there.
Your birthday cake collapses from the weight of the candles.
I JUST WANT TO LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO BE A PROBLEM TO MY KIDS!!
Thanks Harry.
Just a reminder that our Market is re-opening on the 28th, so be there or be square (as Stan Roffe used to say on 3UZ, a long time ago).
