GOOD EVENING ROTARIANS AND FRIENDS

CHAIRMAN for the evening was Mike Smith

GUESTS - Michael and Elizabeth Hosking and  SueViney

Meeting was opened by Chairman Mike Smith who introduced Pres Rob.

Secretary Elaine spoke about correspondence from Rye Lions, who wish to sell boat raffle tickets in the Ritchies complex 8 weeks before we go in and sell our annual trailer raffle tickets

It was decided it would go before the board as we had a lot of different oppinions towards this discuscion.

Director and Inc Pres Peter spoke about PETS a couple of weeks ago, and asked if everyone has signed there WWC and done the form 3, John Barnes and Peter will look into whatever needs to be finalised to bring our club up to date, Peter also mentioned he had a phone call from Stephen Dailey assistant governor, to set up a cluster meeting, this will be done at Peter's house some time late May.

Peter also mentioned meetings with Chris Booth and also Rick Hayllar to get his board on the Rotory.org websit and finalize things prior to him becoming President.

He also said he had a great time and learnt a lot, the only negative, was a mouse in his motel room keeping him up time l cought him at 3.30 in the morning, otherwise great experience and also meeting other Incoming Pres in our area.

Peter also spoke about the District conference in Berwick, he asked who was attending with him, Chris Booth, Merv Prosser, Harry Ziegerink were attending on the 29th April.

Member Tony Viney mentioned the community Market he is organising and how the shire might waive one of the application fee's that would save us over $1000.00n dollars, we all at the club appreciate all the work and effort Tony is putting into this project, GREAT JOB TONY.

Guest speaker

Michael Hosking gave a very good talk about the Vietnam war, which has had a lot of negative oppinions over the years, he told us about all the experiences he had with the Americans and the French as well as other countries that were involved, he sufford from Post troumatic illnesses and explained how he was dealing with this and how he is overcoming it to help his life change and put back into community, he also works with overseas groups to start micro businesses that only cost $250.00 to start up, we at Rotary Dromana has supported him a couple of years ago to set up these micro busineses .

Michael and his wife Elizabeth also brought down some of his books that he has written and a few members including myself bought it to read.

Questions were asked after after Michael's talk and he was thanked by all ,as this could of brought up issues again that he is still trying to deal with, thank you.
