President Tyrrell’s Tales

You are reminded that this Thursday is a Club night followed by this month’s Board Meeting. In the past Club Nights have been very poorly attended, this is very disappointing as it is only through members’ participation that we can ascertain what members are thinking and what members want to focus on for the club for the rest of the year.

This Friday night is the Film Night with proceeds going to Polio Plus. Rosebud Rye Club has been very successful in selling tickets while we unfortunately have not been as successful. However for those who have decided to attend, I thank you on behalf on the campaign to eradicate polio and hope you have an enjoyable evening.

I enjoyed last week’s guest speaker’s presentation and found Dr Jim’s topic enlightening and informative.  We are lucky that PE Ross, with the aid of members’ suggestions, has been able to secure such high quality speakers to inform and entertain us week after week.

This week also saw the club participate in a very worthy community act whereby we were able to act upon Rotarian Pete’s recommendation to purchase and donate a wheelchair to assist a worthy recipient in our local community to become a little more mobile and to take some of the strain off the lady’s daughter. It is local acts of this kind that allows our local club to participate more in our local community.  Thank you Peter for your recommendation.
