Well last night was our first attempt at a Zoom Meeting.
For those of us that participated it went very well considering it was our first time.
Hopefully more of us will be able to participate next time.
A couple of members managed to login but could not be seen or heard by the rest of us probably because they are using their Desktop computer without a microphone and webcam attached.
By the way you can also use your smart phone if you want. John and Julie Barnes, Lyn and Mary joined in this way
Please don't be afraid to try join in next time as it was a great way to "meet and greet" while we have no other choice.
And although as a club we can't do much at the moment we can communicate this way.
Please contact me if you need help connecting.
We hope to be able to make good use of Zoom is the future. The board intends conducting its next Board meeting this way. One feature that is available is the ability to record the whole session. What a great way to take minutes!
A Message from Ray and Eaine
Ray and I would like to thank everyone for their help and kindness to us. We really do appreciate the help. We feel we have been really spoilt.
Kindest regards,
Elaine
The Club Container
Newer members may not know of this.
But many (not sure how many) years ago the Club purchased a 6 metre (20 ft) shipping container and stored it at our previous member and ex-president Andrew Duncan's property in Dromana where it has remained until this day
It has been used to store much of the clubs larger 'assets' such as Art show stands, old PA systems and odds and ends most of which is now redundant and should be got rid of.
Also it is an imposition on Andrew to have to store it and to allow us to occasionally trespass on his property to remove and replace the contents.
Greg Fitzgerald inspected the container today ( Friday the 3rd on April) and made a brief stock take. He also noticed that the roof was leaking.
Greg is interested in obtaining it and repairing the roof. He has offered to empty it and transport it to his factory in Hastings, and disposing of the remaining useless stuff; and is in the process of removing the maybe useful items, and transferring them to the Church shed that the club is now renting.
Hope to see you all at the next Zoom meeting!!!!!
Rick
