Market PR
I would like to thank Rod Troutbeck for taking a leading roll in the preparation of the Market Social media and stall layout plans. His expertise is most welcome

CAROLS NEWS Break-out Day.
We have lived through Science Fiction times. We have wished so much for this relative relaxation. Cross words about Dan A.are forgotten. There are many changes to Rotary's limitations, Rick is overwhelmed with decisions. Leadership matters. Old texts like the Bible tell us Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Without zoom we would have lived in a lonely life, we just had to put up with it's foibles. I know computers are worse than the naughtiest child, they can pick the moment to challenge your patience and skills, however they are our future. Get on board. We can now look forward to the fun aspects of the end of the year, Families and friends reuniting, even love is in the air with an engagement in the club, congratulations Agnes and Michael.
Happenings at the last meeting

The last meeting was a club meeting where we had a chance to discuss a number of issues.

It is proposed to have Christmas party at the Safety Beach Sailing Club.  Details need to be sorted out by the board; it is proposed to have the meeting on Wednesday.
There was discussion on how best to hold the annual general meeting.  There was discussion about whether to hold the meeting by zoom or by person.  Tyrrell spoke to the Atrium caterers about holding the meeting there.  It was suggested that we could meet at 6:30 for a short meeting then allow for those that wish to stay on for a meal do so.  There was support for being able to have both a zoom or a person to person meeting.  After discussion, it was decided to have an AGM on zoom at the usual 7:00 pm time

Bob indicated that the Carols by Head light, will be presented at the Dromana drive in on the 21, 22 and 23 of December.
The 2021 Australia day event is not going to happen.
Bob also indicated that there was a request from Rotary International for donations.

There was discussion on the working bee for the Dromana Community Centre.  It was contemplated that we will start on this coming Monday at 9:00 am depending on whether we can get power.  It was not certain if we Rotary Insurance cover.  Terry will advise the Community Centre that while we were intending to start on Monday, we might be delayed until the Insurance cover has been arranged.

We expect to have our Market opened on the fourth Saturday in January. Tony, we have 10 stall holders for the market.  We need to do what is required to keep the store holders and the public safe.
Rob suggested that we contact the Australia day stall holders to see if they would like to patriciate at the market.  Perhaps the market could have an Australia day focus. These were considered to be useful suggestions for Tony to follow up on.
Andrew asked what little circles are on the Market site plan.  Well they are Dromana Rotary members. See below. Thanks to Tony and his team for their efforts in this project.

Greg reported on an ABCD meeting where they discussed opportunities for local businesses to use car parking space for outside dining.  There was also a council initiative to close Pearce Street to make a mall.

Terry suggested that we advertise on the Facebook Market Place.  Greg suggested that we also use the Town Crier.

Elaine indicated that Rob Alexander has very kindly donated eggs.  Elaine reported 31 dozen have been sold for the “Lift the lid” project to support mental health. Elaine has two buckets of eggs in her fridge for sale at $5.00 per dozen or a donation.  Thanks Rob for this kind donation of free range eggs.

Rob indicated that it would be useful to sell our excesses to help others and Rotary initiatives.
The club has a stall at the market to promote the club but also to raise funds.

Dromana Secondary College has a Rotary Shield for school achievers.  The Shield is full on names and a new Rotary Shield is required.  Risk has a spare Rotary wheel and offered it to School for a new shield.

Finally, we congratulated Michael and Aggie on their engagement.

On the lighter side...

In keeping with the golfing theme.

While golfing, I accidentally overturned my golf cart.....
A very attractive female golfer, who lived in a villa on the golf course, heard the noise and called out:

"Are you okay?"

"I'm okay, thanks," I replied as I pulled myself out of the twisted cart.

"Why don't you come up to my villa, rest for a while, and I'll help you get the cart up later.”

I noticed her silky bathrobe was partially open, revealing what appeared to be a very nice figure.

"That's mighty nice of you," I answered, "but I don't think my wife would like it."

"Oh, come on now", she insisted. She was so pretty and very, very persuasive. I was weak ...

"Well, okay," I finally agreed, "However, I'm sure my wife won't like it."

After a couple of Scotch, I thanked her and said:

"I feel a lot better now, but I know my wife is going to be really upset. So I'd better go now."

"Don't be silly!" she said with a smile, letting her robe fall slightly more open.

"Stay for a while, she won't know anything. By the way, where is she?"

"Still under the cart, I suppose."
