CLUB CONTAINER RESCUED FROM DROWNING.
Club Container at Andrew Duncan's Property
Greg Fitzgerald inspected the container today ( Friday the 3rd on April) and made a brief stock take. He also noticed that the roof was leaking.
Greg is interested in obtaining it and repairing the roof. He has offered to empty it and transport it to his factory in Hastings, and disposing of the remaining useless stuff; and is in the process of removing the maybe useful items, and transferring them to the Church shed that the club is now renting. He has also offered to dismantle the Art show panels and remove the metal side brackets and deliver them to the Dromana Secondary College and dispose of the timber panels.
This container as purchased by the club about 20 years ago
So what is its book value?
Applying any measure of ATO depreciation rules the book value of the Container would be virtually zero. Because it is damaged it is worth less than zero as we would have to take the cost of repair into account.
So Greg Fitzgerald would be doing the Club a favour by acquiring in and removing it at his expense.
The following motion was accepted by the board
The Club allows Greg Fitzgerald to take possession of the container at zero cost and accept his offer of disposal, as a outlined above.
CONFERENCE RIDE
There are still some members that have not paid their Conference Ride promise.
The board has decided that all the proceeds will go to Polio Plus, that you will know Rotary International along with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has virtually eliminated Polio from the World. Only a couple of countries still have the disease in their communities.
So those that have not paid please do so immediately. If for some reason you are having difficulty with the online payment please let me know.
An Offer From Rick Hayllar
I may have mentioned to some of you that with the help of modern technology I am able to (with your permission of course) operate your computer remotely from my office and help you solve the odd problem you may be having. Now that I am confined to home I have more time to do this so please contact me if you think I can help you. I don't guarantee that I can fix all problems. But I am willing to have a go!
The Barnard Browns
Ray and Elaine were most inspired by an article called "Waving Not Drowning" that appeared in The Age ( the real Newspaper) on the 4th of April .
