                                                 PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Hi Everyone, Its good to be back on duty again.
It was brought to our attention that David Jarmen is still not well, our thoughts and prayers are with him and Joy and hope he makes a speedy recovery, we no it is a hard time for them both and everyone from Rotary is there for them if they need anything.
Also there are a few other members that aren’t 100 percent either, they have health issues as well, they will remain nameless but please remember this club is very supportive and will help at any stage they can when you need it.
Over the last few months it has become an issue when we have quest speakers, we seem to run out of time and they either get less time or other matters take over, so with the suggestion of Ian and Greg we have know changed to running sheet so the guest speaker now starts straight after dinner, giving them ample time, then if we have time we can do Directors reports, members reports, lotto and fine session, it was tried last Thursday night and went very well, great suggestion guys.
We have been asked by the potters group if they could use our room on Thursday the 18th of April to prepare for there easter exhibition, As my wife Mary the social secretary was going to organize a social dinner, we have decided to make it that night, So Thursday the 18th April will be a social partners night held at the Pig and Whistle in Main Ridge, time will be sent out in next few weeks.
Update on my blood clot, still on blood thinners, Hematologist has kept me on them for another 8 weeks ,if swelling doesn’t go down ,then l go to a vascular sergean to check up.
Thank you to Rick for doing the Bulletin in my absence,

We are all in this together—and together, we will Be the Inspiration. (A quote from Barry Rassin ).

                                        BE THE INSPIRATION.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, PRES PETER

Meeting was opened by Seargent Murray
Passed over to Pres Pete
Rotary grace done by Chairperson Lyn
Invocation done by Harry
Pete would like to thank all those involved with selling raffle tickets, its a big job and takes a lot of time ,l thank you all.
Pres Pete thanked members for there attendance and welcomed our Guest speaker Amy Yang from the Mornington Peninsula Shire’s recycling department.
Secretary Chris handed out correspondence to Geoff and went over other matters.
Director Merv mentioned about youth exchange and said we need to think about host families from our club, otherwise we might have to leave it for the time being.
Director Tony mentioned the Marked and making some changes to the priceing structure and the number of stalls for the next Market.
Member Mark spoke about RYPEN and how it was going very well, should have a good number.
Guest speaker Amy from the Shire gave us a talk about recycling and how all the rubbish gets sent to Hallam and is sorted out seperated and then sent of to be re-used, Amy handed out brochures on what the shire is doing in this area and also had Rubber type straps to go over rubbish bins to stop rubbish being blown out on windy days, Amy also gave us an indication on what can and cannot be recycled, she said if your plastic can be scrunched into a ball then It’s not to be recycled, larger plastic items are more likely to be recyclable.
Questions were asked by members .
