President's Message

Hello Fellow Rotarians,

Last Wednesday at the meeting of our Committees, I spoke about the Sky Whales, that we have the required number of volunteers and plans to go ahead and participate in the event are at hand.

I also spoke about Ranch 2.0. and the invitation by the Rotary Club of Mornington to attend a special function to thank the Donors and Sponsors of this new project.  It was suggested by our Secretary Wayne that we, as a Club should attend this function. Wayne will be sending out an invitation to all our Members in due course.

The third point I spoke about was that we are in desperate need of having our own Club House, for various reasons. I have already investigated this possibility 2 years ago. The challenge we face is Catering. I will pursue this further.

Chris spoke briefly about a possible Raffle to help promote Rotary Dromana and have a visual presence in our community. He also mention that Try Booking has been well accepted by our stall holders. Our 1st market for the financial year is next Saturday. We need many members to help.

Next Wednesday we meet at the SBS Club. Our speaker will be Graeme Woolacot and his topic will be Rotary International. Look forward to seeing you all there.

Happenings at last week’s Meeting

This week we were back at Two Buoys for our Committees Meeting. The Meeting was not structured around individual Committees but was a general Club discussion.

The Presidents Report (above) covers most of the topics discussed. The longest discussion was on the future Club venues and the viable options. As Charles has pointed out, this was largely a re-statement of the issues we had two years ago.

Two additional subjects were covered by Chris:
  • The Two Bays Fun Run is on 11th January next year and we will be rolling out the BBQ again.
  • There are several additional signs going up at the Market. One will list all the stalls that are attending.
Back to the Sailing Club this week. The Meeting closed at 8:00.

You will receive an email each week requesting that you confirm your attendance at the next meeting by return email of by phone call or text.
