Hi Everyone,
Thanks to everyone who attended Thursday nights meeting, it was a great night, we Inducted Doug Mc Cartin to our club, We also had ADG Stephen Daley present Adrian Davis with a well deserved Paul Harris Award , the award was given to Adrian for his work done on getting over 25 new members to various clubs and also his work done in NYSF and RAWCS as well as many other achievements ,We also had PDG Charlie Spears present fellow Rotarian Rick Hayllar with another Paul Harris Award for his Rotary Service to our club, Rick has been our Treasurer for many, many years as well as contributing to other overseas Rotary projects,( as long as there was snow).
It was also good to see Rob Clarke back after his operation, Rob is interested in joining our club as well in the next couple of weeks.
Car raffle update, we will be drawing the raffle at Mornington Mazda, Chris has spoken to them to organize the news paper to be there as well as any other media representatives.
Next week we will be Inducting another new member Brenton Ellis into our club, so hopefully we can have another full house of members and guests.
It was also great to see some of our fellow Mt Martha Rotarians visit our club to see the presentation of the PHF to Adrian, as Adrian was a member of their club as well.
Don’t forget our Progressive dinner, please bring change for Elaine as well as our raffle for a hamper My wife Mary has made up, we are also taking donations for POLIO and receits can be given, also please bring a fold up chair a glass for your drinks as well as this is a BYO eveny, staring at Barb and Col Byatt’s house in Safety Beach at 5.30 then going onto Elaine and Geoff’s house in Main Ridge, full details were sent earlier.

Pres Pete - Peter spoke about the TRAG program and asked if we as a club and a cluster could do something to support this great program to try and save young lives on our roads, Peter passed around brochures and showed one of the P-Plate's that need funding,This P-Plate has the Rotary wheel and club on the back of it, l am hoping that we can raise $5,500 to get the plate put in VIC ROADS in our area and distributed to every new driver, Charlie Spears said he would see what he could do, and if there was anyone that had a grant to use, this would be a great idea. Mal , one of men in charge of this program told me a story about a group of young people in Hastings that were at a party, all had been drinking and were going to another party, all got int he car and saw the P-Plate and the picture of a girl that had died in a car accident , all decided to get out of the car and call there parents to take them to the party, Mal said 2 parents rang him and told them what they had done, and thanked him because it was there program that they ran at Mornington secondary Schools that made the young people change there mind and possibly could of saved them from a serious accident.
