Peter, Chris, Bob, Harry, Ross all went to Mt Martha Rotary Club Meeting on Monday the 23rd to listen to Mosses talk about his life in PNG, it was a very interesting talk about his childhood and growing up and also getting the opportunity to be adopted by an Australian family who brought him up and sent him to a private school, he travels back to his home village and is know looking to help with a water program for his village that other villages can use.
As l said when l became president, l would like to get at least 2 Sky Hydrants through our cluster group, this is very achievable and maybe PNG would be a good choice for at least one.
PICS at the bottom of the Bulletin of Moses and his Village.
As I wasn’t at Rotary this week for very long, I set up the hall then went of for personal reasons, then came back for our guest speaker, So my report is on the things I have done during the week. I went to see Zen about the BBQ trailer we want to build with Tony Viney on Wednesday afternoon, We are looking at around $15,000 dollars to build one with a roof, hot/cold running water as well as a 12/240 volt fridge, these are all the new rules for BBQ trailers,l have assisted directors with there projects were needed and also organised more prospective people to attend our satellite meeting on the 16th August.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK, PRES PETER

Guest speaker. (Topic - Dystonia)
Davis Smith Age 55.
David spoke about his battle with Dystonia, and how this has changed his life, how he manages everyday duties and yet still manages to work for 4 days per week, Dave have 5 children including 1 set of triplets. Dave had a stoke when he was 2 hours old and has had many more through his lifetime, He is trying to make people aware of this condition, and that’s the aim of this walk and being guest speaker at these types of functions.
Prior to his operation, when he went to the doctors, he said l think l have Parkinson’s disease , the doctor did some tests and said no you don’t, much to Dave’s surprise, then told him he had Dystonia and then told him about the prosses of dealing with it, prior to his opp his blood pressure was 182 over 130, this was to high for the operation so they had to get it down first, as he was awake during the whole operation, he would be holding a nurses hand for them to get reactions to the drilling in 2 parts of his brain, the doctor said there was 2% chance he could die during the opp and a 10% chance it would do nothing at all, after the opp Dave was unable to drive for 3 months and had to walk everywhere, he has to recharge his battery on his pacemaker type device witch is located inside his chest area, if he doesn’t, he literally looses all his energy, this can take between 30 to 90 minutes depending how flat the battery is.
He is doing the walk to support the brain foundation Click here for the details, he said they looked after him so wants to support them and what they did for him. To find out more about the Brain Foundation clickhere
