AT LAST WEEKS MEETING

Hello Members and friends of Rotary.

This week we we're blessed with the visit from Kieth and Jan Firth from Tassie, past members on vacation to the mainland, and also Ailsa ,Who has been away sick and recovering, great to see them all.

Other guests attending this week were the parents of our guest speakers Zoe and Tyler, they all seemed to have a great time visiting our club with lots of laughs, hopefully we might get a new member or 2 out of them.

This weeks meeting as usual was opened by Sergeant Murray and handed over to Pres Ross.
Chairman Chris asked for Directors reports.
Treasurer Rick spoke about his upcoming weekend away with our exchange student, and as there was no one to go away with her of her own age, l offered for our daughter Georgie to go away with her, as we have tried to get to the snow ourselves, but with our business, always found it difficult,  thought this would be a fantastic opportunity for both girls, thanks Rick, Carol and Ross.
Director Peter mentioned the upcoming cancer morning tea fundraiser that Rotary has supported at our salon this Wednesday 14th between 10.00am and 11.00am, $10.00 donation for tea or coffee and cakes, sandwiches, biscuits etc, was a fantastic event last year and this year will be just as good if not better, great social event, and many new friendships were made.

It was also great to see Ailsa back even with her arm in a sling, Ailsa even got up and done the GIG, she spoke about her trip overseas were she ended up in hospital after a car accident, she showed us her X-rays of were all the screws have been put in, glad it was after dinner, she also has a lot of medical appointments to go to and may need drivers.

Our Guests for tonight were Zoe and Tyler, these students were from Balcombe College and went to MUNA representing there school and there country was Iran, they both enjoyed the experience very much as it gave them a chance to see how people react, as Zoe wants to be a Lawyer, Zoe also works as a volunteer with the ridding with the disabled, a great group to be associated with, as our past Pres Bob Donaldson is also a volunteer. Tyler also enjoyed the experience as he met new friends, they both said they enjoyed MUNA as it gave them a chance to represent a country that had different ideas than ours, the country that won the weekend was Australia, as a member of the audience that Sunday with Lynn Lewis from our club, we both found it very enjoyable to see all the participants work in a different environment and work well together, great job to all.

Lotto was won Ray , so l gave the money to Elaine, as most men do.
The fine session went well, l think Murray pretends he's reading from the fine book, he seems to just look at you and then find a reason to fine you, who needs a reason, he  fined Chris and ray for kissing all the women, that was good because he missed me sitting on one of them, Lynn enjoyed it, she smilled either she was happy or had wind, but he gets the job done, thats all that matters.

Dinner tonight was Pizza, salad and  WARM apple piece and ICE cream, tea and coffee.
Next weeks dinner, remember its the district Gov visit to our club, all board members please be prepared for pre meeting board meeting with District governor Lynn.
Dinner for this meeting will be, Lasagna, salad and garlic bread, dessert will be apple pie and ice cream and fruit cake and custard and berry pie and ice cream ( you only get one not all three ).
REMEMBER, It is a partners night this week and please let myself and Elaine no for catering purposes..

Monday night 12th, there is a meeting at Hastings to Hastings insurance, there are 2 car loads going, l will be taking Ray and Elaine BB in my car( music will be Techno) and Bob Donaldson will be taking John Barnes and Chris booth in his car( music will be whatever he finds at opp shop, probably classics from 15th century, if Chris has his way), It will be good to hear what they have to say on this matter as it concerns all clubs.

THIS WEEKS JOKE , please don't take offense, its hard to find clean joke that are ,non racial, religious, ethnic, male or female, affencive or rude, enjoy.l even had a really good picture , but due to circumstances of who might take it the wrong way, l decided to not publish it.
In future, if l do publish anything, please remember l am certainly not trying to offend anyone, just trying to make our bulletin more enjoyable for everyone to read, thank you.

Aunty Daphne's joke

A guy goes into Australia Post to apply for a job.
The
interviewer asks him, "Are you allergic to anything?"

He replies, "Yes, caffeine. I can't drink coffee."

"Ok, have you ever been in the military service?"

"Yes," he says, "I was in Afghanistan for one tour."

The interviewer says, "That will give you 5 extra points
 toward employment."

Then he asks, "Are you disabled in any way?"

The guy says, "Yes. A bomb exploded near me and I lost
 both my testicles."

The interviewer grimaces and then says, Disabled in your
country's service! Well that qualifies for extra bonus points.
"Okay. Looking at the regulations you have got
enough points for me to hire you right now.

Our normal hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 PM.

You can start tomorrow at 10:00 am, and plan on starting
at 10:00 am every day."

The guy is puzzled and asks,
"If the work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 PM, why don't you want me here until 10:00 am?"

"This is a government job", the interviewer says.

"For the first two hours, we just stand around drinking
coffee and scratching our balls. No point in you coming in for that."
