The acting president Ross Whitehead opened the meeting at 6.30 pm and toasted Balcombe Grammar. He welcomed Guest Speaker Allan Boston CEO of Bays Health Care Group. Also welcomed Michael Anderson who wishes to join Dromana Rotary. Michael has previously been a member of Inverloch Rotary Club. Ross handed over proceedings to Chairman Harry. Harry asked members to ensure they order their Rotary apparel as he will be absent for 3 weeks. Secretary Bob reported he had passed invoices to be paid to the treasurer for payment. Chris reported on Dromana Rotary involvement in the Balcombe Grammar student interviews saying it was very rewarding for those involved. Rick mentioned that our exchange student took up a 4 day skiing offer as against our offer of 2 days. Merv thanked Greg for organising the Hillview working bee last Saturday. It was a great success. Harry introduced Allan Boston CEO of the Bays Health Care Group.Allan backgrounded himself and said he previously had links with Rotary in Tasmania with the rescue helicopter service.. This year is the 80th anniversary of the hospital and Allan showed some historical photos of the Bush Nursing Hospital in 1937. It is still a community asset run by the community with no Government funding. He outlined future proposals for both Mornington and Hastings. A new 60 bed nursing home is to be built at Hastings and when completed, the present facility is o be demolished and replaced with another 60 bed facility. A new intensive care unit is to be built in Mornington next year. Meeting closed at 8 pm.
