Peter Anderson's Report
Good evening Members , Friends and other Rotarians.
This will be my last bulletin for the year 2016, as there is no more meetings till n
ext year, l look forward to doing the bulletin with all the ability l can in the new year, l would also like to thank all those that helped me with kitchen duties , hall set up and other duties that l may have usually done but couldn't for certain reasons E.G.. Road trip over queens birthday.
This weeks bulletin will have Xmas pics from our Greek dinner, pics from Christmas carols, and some from an unexpected visit to Perth.
Its a small world.
We came over to Perth to visit a friend of my wife, she then invited us to another friends house to play cards, the friend said , when it gets dark we will go around the corner to look at a friend of there's Christmas lights, as we walk up the street , his house was all lit up and standing outside was a Rotarian rattling a can, l couldn't believe they were raising money for wheel chars for disabled children overseas, l gave him some money and explained l was from Dromana Rotary Club and had a guest speaker giving a talk about the chairs, we went upstairs and had coffee and l asked Alan for a copy of his bulletin, he gave me one and l will bring it to Rotary at our next meeting, he was a very nice man and his wife was very welcoming.
Christmas carols went of without a hitch this year, except for some soft ice cream, which will be rectified for next year, and sausage sales not as good as expected, all in all still a good effort with salvos cans bringing in over $800.00, and combined ice cream and snag sales bringing the total to over $1,000.00, final figure will come from treasurer Rick in the new year, great job by all those that helped with set up.
Trailer raffle still progressing wonderfully with Roger ( even if he did try to burn all the tickets and thanks for ringing at 5 in the morning, I'm sure l will think of something to bet you back) and David and Ray BB and all the committee involved , they are doing the great walk through the caravan section from Rosebud to Rye in 3 sessions, loved to help but away, sounded great.
Don't forget members this Thursday our first meeting is on the foreshore ,see you all there.
