Our guest speaker Mark Sterling
Mark spoke about working for UNIFEF for 35 years, were he spent most of his time in Africa on the Aids epperdemic, heis married with 3 children and lives in Red Hill.
This was his first time at a small Rotary Club, he worked in Greece for refugees, he worked in Swazy land with HIV infected people were there were 1.8 million infected at the time, we has worked eastern and southern Africa.
In 2013 he came home and worked on the civil war with UNSEF .
He said 3,000 refugees came from Turkey by boat to Greece, they would take up to 3 days to to get processed,  then theywould go further afeald to other countries.
Blue dot countries were set up for refugees to have a rest or get medical attention or loom for lost children, they looked for unorcumpanead children, had a registration proccess, they looked after there best interest, and basic services, for people on the move.
About 25,000 people per year,in 2015 there were 1,500 unaccompanied children and that 85 percent through to join military or other organisations.
95 were forced out of there homes, and most were profesional people.
It was a great talk, everyone enjoyed it and had a few questions for him when he finished.

Thank you everyone, my note from last week must of got through, there was silence through his talk and directors talks, thank you.

one other note, l will suggest at next board meeting that we write on the back of the guest name plate, that the guest speaker starts his talk at 7.30 and finishes at 7.50 for any questions, that way the guest sees it and can adjust his talk aggordingly so we don't run to far overtime, and only he and the head table sees these notes.( thank you John Barnes as he bought it to my attention of speakers going overtime.)
