The meeting was started by Presadent Libby welcoming assistant Gov Linda Morris, Presadent Ross from Dromana Rotary
And our exchange student Emilie.
As there was no Directors reports from either club it went straight on to Pat from Rye /Rosebud giving us all a talk about how he went with the collection of donation towards the earth quake in Italy, pat said he approached a lot of people and community groups and the end result
Was he raised over $9,500.00, it was a great effort for something close to his heart, Pat said Australia is now his country, but still wanted to help his birth country, he thanked both Rotary clubs for all there support.
Guest speaker was Peter Dell from Warragul Rotary Club and organises Dream cricket, he and his volunteers organize a form of cricket for disabled children and young adults.
He was saying how much they get involved in the game and the looks on there faces is priceless, they throw balls into a net and catch the ball, they have different types of nets that can divert the ball anywere , just for a bit more of a challenge, Peter said one boy ad 3 things set up
And he hit all 3 in 3 shots, he ran arou d the ground 3 times and was still excited hours later even when he got home.
Peter also said about 2 boys that never Intergrated with anything that the special school done, but this occasion Peter noticed them watching and called them over, only one boy came over but later seeinv how much fun the boy was having decided to come a d join them,
One of the teachers came over said they had never seen those 2 boys ever join in and was amazed, this sort of thing keeps Peter involved in cricket for there children becouse he gets so much out of it, it was a great talk and everyone in the room enjoyed it.
